I came home to a very exciting parcel today...my Luxe Box! This beauty subscription service was the first one I signed up with and am still with it years later. A few changes have occurred, mainly the change from a monthly box to a seasonal, 4-times a year service. You do receive more products but it also came with a price increase. I am a loyal customer with Luxe Box and it would take a lot for me to discontinue with them.
I was very impressed with what I received this season - a nice mix of makeup, skincare, nails and body products. Here's what I received! Tell me what you received this season below in the comments or leave a link to your blog post.
I have wanted to try the Klorane dry shampoo for some time so I'm very excited to see how it performs on my dark brown hair. Also, the travel size is perfect for trips...shocking haha. The smell isn't something to rave about but is much better than the smell of dirty, greasy hair.
I would love to try more things from L'Occitane but the hefty price tags (the full size of this product is $92) are keeping me away. This night cream will be perfect for the winter as it is SUPER thick and moisturizing. A very generous sample size (15mL) will help give me a good idea about it's performance. Again, the smell isn't my favourite but it is tolerable.
While the first two products smells left me saying meh, this one does not at all! A nice light hand cream with an accompanying light berry scent. The lotion doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky and quickly absorbs into the skin. If you have very dry hands, this product will not provide enough moisture. I recently was wanting to buy a new hand cream for the winter, between this and my Ipsy bag I am all set for awhile.
I love Michael Kors, and have for awhile (even despite a very frustrating situation with a purse). The brand is releasing a makeup line soon but while I wait for that I can enjoy this eau de parfum trio. Sporty Citrus is "A dazzling burst of citrus with luscious orange flower and a hint of warm woods" with key notes of mandarin, orange flower and patchouli. Sexy Amber is "A spotlight on warm amber wrapped in sandalwood, layered with white flowers"with key notes of amber, sandalwood and jasmine. Glam Jasmine is "A bouquet of lush jasmine with accents of creamy woods" with key notes of jasmine, cassis and sandalwood. I really like both Sporty Citrus (more for daytime wear, especially during the spring and summer) and Sexy Amber (for me this is also daytime suitable - but for most people more so an evening scent). I'm not enjoying Glam Jasmine that much and can't see myself growing to like it. Two out of three isn't bad at all! (Of course as I sit here and write, all I can freaking smell is Glam Jasmine.......)
You can never have enough black eyeliners right? No I think you can, and I have reached that limit. I have a very similar product from Essence so don't see myself using this one anytime soon. Hopefully it doesn't dry out while it sits in my "Extras" box. Great pigmentation and goes onto the skin very easy. I like the bigger felt tip pens for dramatic looks and they are very user friendly I find.
Woo! Another nail polish! This one is stunning with a rose gold-pink shimmer with silver and gold/bronze shimmer mixed in. The swatch I show above is ONE COAT! This is a perfect colour for fall and winter. Can't get over how beautiful it is. Good job China Glaze!
Last but not certainly not least, is a tiny tiny sample of The Balm's Instain. A long-wearing powder blush that has gotten a lot of great reviews from the YouTube community. This is a darker coral colour which just screams Autumn to me. While this has great pigmentation, I am a little hesitant to use it as the sample is just so darn small. How am I suppose to swirl my blush brush in this? Hopefully it is easier to use than what I'm imagining.
I think you can see why I was so happy this season!
til next time...
